In May 2013, local funk and blues band Aggravated Funking performed as the headlining act at the Backstage Lounge. The band entertained an enthusiastic crowd alongside local electric soul trio, Crumb. With blues infused riffs and soul stomping funk, the evening was memorable for everyone in attendance. The band was fronted by Neil Kim on vocals and lead guitar with Owen McCall on vocals and rhythm guitar, CJ McGillivray on vocals and keytar, Setrag Avakian on drums and Birat Lekhak on electric bass. Their night at the Backstage Lounge was the final performance for Aggravated Funking, before each of the band members graduated university and relocated to their various home cities across Canada and the United States.
